About me

I was born in 1993 at the Delphys birthing center, the second of three siblings. Movement, social interaction, and nature have always fascinated me. After graduating from high school with a focus on design, I spent several summers working as a cowherd in the Alps, caring for and supporting people with disabilities, volunteering to help families in difficult situations, and studying education at the University of Zürich.

At the age of 25, I found my calling in midwifery and completed my bachelor’s degree in 2022. At the Thusis Hospital, I learned to work independently in a very small maternity ward. At the Zürcher Oberland Birth Center, I was able to grow into non-clinical midwifery.

I am constantly continuing my education and incorporating new insights and techniques into my work. Many of my skills are self-taught and I value the exchange with experienced colleagues. The most profound and intensive training has been and continues to be pregnancy, birth, the postpartum period, and being a mother to our wonderful son. I live with him and my long-term partner in Wermatswil, Zürich, where I also have access to a small practice room.

Values

Health is the foundation and goal of having children. Promoting and supporting health holistically is a core competence of midwives. This is best achieved when support is continuous and begins during pregnancy.

Diversity enriches life. I am happy to accompany same-sex couples, single mothers, women with physical, mental, or sensory impairments, and people from different cultures and religions.

Self-empowerment. Mothers are experts on their bodies and their children. Mindful check-ups in consultation with the mother and carefully selected and formulated information as desired can help her to experience pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period in a self-determined way.

Sustainability is important to me. So that our children can also grow up with nature and the environment as intact as possible, I pursue and communicate ways to conserve resources (e.g., borrowing instead of buying, cloth diapers and diaper-free, species-appropriate parenting).
